Documents Needed for 2025 NWAG Scholarship Application

- A Proof of State of Origination from the university or a letter from your local government office
- 2 recommendation letters, 1 each from any two of the following:
- An Imam or a Pastor
- A Village Head
- The Local Government Chairperson
- The University Lecturer or Head of the Department.
- And one Letter of recommendation from either the Dean of your Faculty or the School Head of your Department
- A photocopy of your current university student identification
- Your current passport photograph
- Also, an explanation of why you need and why you should be considered for the scholarship (This should not be more than one-half typed page)
- Ultimately, a type-written, double-spaced, two-page essay on: “The alarming exodus of professionals leaving Nigeria for greener pastures: What is the cause? What can be done to improve or reduce this mass exit? How does this “Japa Syndrome ” affect education in Nigeria?”
Selection Process
The NWAG Scholarship Program is set to grant 111 female undergraduates in Nigeria a one-time scholarship. The selection will be by choosing 3 outstanding candidates each per state and 3 candidates will also be selected from the FCT.
What the NWAG Scholarship Covers
The NWAG Scholarship will give a huge sum of cash to all the selected scholars.
Each undergraduate in a Nigerian University who wins the 2025 NWAG Scholarship Award will receive Three Hundred U.S. dollars ($300).
Also, a sum of One Hundred and Fifty U.S. Dollars ($150) would be awarded to each 1st runner up. While the sum of One Hundred U.S. Dollars ($100) would be awarded to each 2nd runner-up.
