The Australia Awards Scholarship covers the following since it is a fully funded scholarship.

- Return air travel to your home country
- Your establishment allowance

- Introductory Academic Program (IAP)

Australia Awards Scholarship 2025 Eligibility Criteria
For you to be considered for selection in the Australia Awards Scholarship you must meet all eligibility requirements detailed in the Australia Awards Scholarships Policy
Handbook. Also, you must:
- Be ready to study undergraduate or postgraduate programs that are related to your country’s priority areas for development.
- Meet your Specific conditions.
- Not be less than 25 years of age on 1 February 2025.
- Have a minimum of 5 years of post-graduate work experience, working in a field relative to your field of study.
- Be a citizen of any of the countries listed below; Algeria, Benin, Botswana, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia or Zimbabwe.
- Be residing in and applying for the scholarship from your country of citizenship. However, you can apply from other countries if you are working for an African Regional Organisation or working on a diplomatic mission for your home country.
- Not be taking a Master’s degree or equivalent degree in your home country).
- Have already bagged an undergraduate degree (equivalent to an Australian undergraduate degree).
- Not be a previous beneficiary of the Australia Long-term Award.
- Meet the minimum English language proficiency cutoff of at least 6.5 in IELTS with no band less than 6.0. Also, your TOEFL score should not be less than 84, with a minimum of 21 in all subtests, or a PTE Academic overall score of 58 with no communicative skill score less than 50. (You are excluded if your first language is English and you have undertaken your education in English).
Note that the scores must be valid on 1 January 2025.
Ultimately, note that the Australia Awards Scholarship is not available for training in areas related to flying aircraft, nuclear technology, or military training.

The areas of study that are eligible for the Australia Awards scholarship in this application round are as follows:

- Mining and energy
- Foreign policy and international security and

How to Apply for the Australia Awards Scholarship 2025 Registration
To apply for the Australia Awards Scholarship you must:
- Fill out an online application. through OASIS. Also, you can apply by mail (if unable to apply online.
- Be able to provide all the supporting documents needed. The documents are your Passport Proof of Citizenship, your Undergraduate Degree Certificate, and your Undergraduate Academic Transcript.
- Also, your Curriculum Vitae, your Employer Referee Report, and your Academic Referee Report. Likewise, your IELTS/TOEFL/Pearson Test Certificate must be scanned.
Note that you must submit all the relevant supporting documents listed in the Australia Awards Scholarships Policy Handbook for you to be considered. Also, you will be asked to provide the original document if you are among the successful candidates.
Furthermore, it is important to check the open and close dates for your country and select your country of citizenship/residency from the list of participating countries.

to 30 April 2025 at 11:59 PM AEST.

Note that you will be assessed and selected based on your
- Professional and personal qualities
- Leadership attributes including relevant work experience
- Academic competence and, most importantly
- Your potential to impact development challenges in your county
- Also, you will be shortlisted for a selection interview after eligibility checking
- Ultimately, you will be notified in late 2025 if you are being selected.
Note that you will be required to attend;
- Course counseling
- Pre-departure briefing
- University’s Introductory Academic Program and
- Other required preparatory study on arrival in Australia if you are part of the selected candidates.
Ultimately, preferences are given to applications from women, people with disability, and other marginalized groups.
