Eligibility Criteria for 2025 Federal Government Scholarship
The eligibility criteria for the Federal Government Scholarship are as follows:
- If you intend to apply for a Postgraduate Scholarship then you should possess a minimum of first degree with Second Class Honors in the Upper Division.
- You must be a registered Full-Time student of Federal or State Universities in Nigeria.
- If you are looking forward to bagging UG, HND, or NCE then you must be a registered full-time student.
- You must be in your second year or above, in any Federal or State university, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, or College of Education in Nigeria.
- You must have at least 4.0 Cumulative Grade Points Aggregate (CGPA) on a five (5) point scale or 5.0 on a 7 point scale or its equivalent as an undergraduate applicant.
- You must have a CGPA of 3.5 and above on a scale of 4.0 as an NCE and HND applicant.
FG 2025 Scholarship Awards Eligible Fields Of Study
You are eligible to apply for the scholarships if you are studying in any of the following fields. Those are the fields that will be considered for the scholarship award. They are;
- Science and Technology
- Medicine and Medical Sciences
- Education
- Agriculture
- Liberal Arts/Social/Management Sciences
- Entrepreneurial Studies
- Information and Communication Technology
- Environmental Sciences
- Law
How to Apply for the FG 2025 Scholarship Awards Registration
If you qualify for the scholarship. That is, if you meet the eligibility criteria then you can apply by following the steps below.
Step 1: Visit the Federal Ministry of Education’s website www.education.gov.ng and then click on the Federal Scholarship Board ICON on the Home Page.
Step 2: Then read the guidelines to avoid any errors.
Step 3: After that make sure you complete the application form online.
Step 4: Ultimately, print the completed form.
Note: Make sure you have at hand and attach the following documents during your application.
- A Letter of Admission to your Institution of Learning.
- Result showing your CGPA.
- Your National Identity Number.
- And then your State of Origin Certificate.
It is important to note that:
- Any double application will be disqualified.
- The awards are only tenable in Nigeria.
- The award will take effect from the beginning of the academic session.
- The Award should not be held at the same time with another Award nor for part-time studies.
- Changing of course or Institution is not allowed while you are still benefiting from the award.
Registration Period
The registration portal for the Federal Government Scholarship will be open from 2nd April 2024 to 13th My, 2024. So apply within the application window.
What the FG 2025 Scholarship Awards Covers
The Federal Government Scholarship covers the tuition fee and some other fees.
For Undergraduate Scholars you will receive a sum of 250,000 nairas per annum. While Postgraduate Scholars will amass a sum of 300,000 Naira per annum. Also, HND Scholars will get 150,000 naira per annum. Ultimately, NCE scholars will obtain a sum of 150,000 naira per annum.
